Samsung has now started teasing the release of its next foldable smartphones, which are due to officially debut this summer. So far, the company has only acknowledged one new foldable, which appears to be the successor to last year's Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,067 - refurbished on Amazon). However, an increasing amount of evidence suggests that the company is preparing four new foldables for 2025.
To recap, Samsung was spotted certifying three of these devices with the TKDN in Indonesia. As we discussed at the time, these were the SM-F761B, SM-F766B and SM-F966B, which are expected to arrive as the Galaxy Z Flip FE, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7. Now, a fourth model bearing the model number SM-F968 has surfaced on the 3C. For reference, the 0 at the end of this model number signifies that Samsung intends to sell this variant in China.
By all accounts, the SM-F968 is Samsung's first tri-folding smartphone and rival to the Huawei Mate XT. Surprisingly, the 3C suggests that Samsung will ship its first tri-fold without a charger. Not only that but the so-called Galaxy G Fold will be limited to 25 W wired charging, compared to 66 W for the Mate XT. Currently, Samsung is expected to offer its Mate XT alternative this autumn only in China and South Korea.
