Xiaomi RedmiBook Pro 14 2025 review - Now with Arrow Lake and 16 hours of battery life
Brighter IPS display in the 14-inch laptop.
The 2025 RedmiBook Pro 14 features Intel Arrow Lake CPUs, a brighter 120 Hz IPS display, and improved battery life. Despite a price increase, it remains a strong mid-range option.Andreas Osthoff, 👁 Andreas Osthoff, ✓ Sebastian Jankowski (translated by DeepL / Ninh Duy) Published 🇩🇪 🇨🇳 ...
Verdict: The RedmiBook Pro 14 (2025) remains a solid all-rounder, but the higher price limits its overall value.
The 2025 RedmiBook Pro 14 features Intel's latest Arrow Lake processor, delivering strong performance thanks to high power limits. However, this also puts pressure on the cooling system and power supply, resulting in high surface temperatures and noticeable fan noise under heavy load.
The updated RedmiBook Pro 14 keeps its matte 120 Hz IPS panel but now offers increased brightness (500 cd/m² vs. 400 cd/m²) while maintaining excellent image quality. Battery life drops slightly at full brightness but improves overall, reaching 16:10 hours in the Wi-Fi test at 150 cd/m²—about 1.5 hours more than before. Ports and input devices perform well, though the 1080p webcam delivers poor image quality.
However, the higher price—now nearly 1,100 euros—is a downside, especially since the laptop isn’t officially sold in some regions. Competing models like the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 14 (currently under review at 1,099 euros) could offer better local availability and similar value.
Pros
Cons
Price and availability
The RedmiBook Pro 14 was among the best Meteor Lake laptops last year, and the 2025 model brings a CPU upgrade to the Core Ultra 7 255H along with a brighter 500-nit IPS display. Our test unit, equipped with 32 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD, is available for 1,087 euros via TradingShenzen.

Case & equipment
The design of the RedmiBook Pro 14 2025 remains nearly identical to the 2024 model, still featuring a sturdy aluminum case. However, the silver surfaces now show a subtle bluish tint depending on the light. Build quality remains excellent, with no issues in stability or workmanship. The 180-degree hinges are well-tuned, and the bottom panel is easily removable via Torx screws, giving access to the dual SSD slots, Wi-Fi module, battery, and fans.
Ports are unchanged, including Thunderbolt 4, and all essential standards for daily use are supported. However, the Wi-Fi module has been downgraded to Intel AX203, which only supports Wi-Fi 6 at 80 MHz, limiting transfer speeds to under 1 Gbit/s. The 2 MP webcam still delivers poor image quality, though it supports studio effects and live subtitles. This is not a Copilot+ laptop.

Sustainability
Xiaomi does not offer any details regarding the sustainability or environmental impact of the RedmiBook Pro 14. However, the packaging is primarily made from paper or cardboard materials.
Input devices - Illuminated keyboard
Instead of the right Ctrl key, there is now a co-pilot key, but otherwise there are no changes. The backlit keyboard (activated via sensor) still offers a sufficiently long stroke, precise touch and a very comfortable typing experience overall. The power button is integrated on the right above the keyboard and includes the fingerprint scanner. The ClickPad works well, but the mechanical clicks are a little loud.
Display - 500 nits IPS
The 14-inch IPS display still offers the 2.8K resolution (2,880 x 1,800, 16:10) and a frequency of 120 Hz, but the maximum brightness has been increased from 400 to 500 cd/m² and our measurements confirm this. The black level suffers minimally (0.37 cd/m²), but the maximum contrast ratio is still a good ~1,400:1. The subjective picture quality is very good with vivid colors and smooth movements. There is no PWM flickering and the response times are inconspicuous, but there are slight halos at brighter brightness levels. Both the brightness and the color temperature can be automatically controlled by a sensor.
Our analysis with the professional CalMAN software shows that the factory profile is already very accurate, but slightly too cool. The color accuracy is also already very good and only blue is slightly above the target value of 3. Our own calibration improves the display, only the deviation of blue is even slightly higher. The sRGB color space is fully covered.

Test conditions
The RedmiBook Pro 14 does not include any custom or device-specific power profiles. All benchmarks and measurements were conducted using Windows' "Best Performance" mode to ensure maximum performance output.
Processor - Core Ultra 7 255H
The new Core Ultra 7 255H from Intel's Arrow Lake generation replaces the previous Core Ultra 7 155H in the older RedmiBook Pro. It features 16 cores without hyperthreading and can briefly draw up to 115 watts in the test device before stabilizing at 45 watts, occasionally spiking to 70 watts. Overall benchmark performance is very strong. In battery mode, where power peaks at 55 watts, performance drops only slightly—by around 7%.

Graphics card
The integrated Arc Graphics 140T is about 15% faster than the previous 8-core Arc GPU in the Time Spy benchmark, but the real-world difference is modest. In gaming, the new RedmiBook Pro 14 shows only a 4% improvement over its predecessor on average. Still, gaming performance remains solid for an integrated GPU, and the presence of Thunderbolt 4 allows for external GPU support if needed. GPU performance stays consistent in both battery mode and during prolonged use.

Noise emissions
The dual-fan system stays silent during idle and light tasks, often remaining off entirely. However, under heavy load, the high power limits make their presence known: fan noise reaches around 42 dB(A) during gaming and up to 45 dB(A) in stress tests—clearly audible but not unpleasant in tone. No coil whine or other electronic noise was observed on the test unit.

Temperature
Surface temperatures are unproblematic during everyday use, but under heavy load, the device gets too hot for use on your lap. We recorded temperatures of around 50 °C during both gaming and stress testing—noticeably higher than the previous model. The elevated TDP values contribute to this, with the processor briefly drawing up to 120 watts before fluctuating between 45–70 watts during sustained load.
(±) The maximum temperature on the upper side is 41.9 °C / 107 F, compared to the average of 35.9 °C / 97 F, ranging from 21.4 to 59 °C for the class Subnotebook.
(-) The bottom heats up to a maximum of 52.1 °C / 126 F, compared to the average of 39.3 °C / 103 F
(+) In idle usage, the average temperature for the upper side is 25.2 °C / 77 F, compared to the device average of 30.8 °C / 87 F.
(±) 3: The average temperature for the upper side is 35.8 °C / 96 F, compared to the average of 30.8 °C / 87 F for the class Subnotebook.
(+) The palmrests and touchpad are cooler than skin temperature with a maximum of 29.5 °C / 85.1 F and are therefore cool to the touch.
(±) The average temperature of the palmrest area of similar devices was 28.2 °C / 82.8 F (-1.3 °C / -2.3 F).

Energy consumption
Power consumption has slightly increased due to the brighter display. During the stress test, the 100-watt power adapter briefly becomes a limiting factor, as the system can draw over 150 watts according to HWiNFO. In these moments, the battery must temporarily supply additional power. Over time, power draw fluctuated between 72 and 88 watts, aligning with the processor's TDP behavior. While the 100-watt plug-in adapter is compact, it's somewhat underpowered and ran very hot—exceeding 60 °C under sustained load.
