Vivo has now replaced the iQOO Watch, which debuted last April with a 46 mm case size and a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. Surprisingly, the company has skipped a few generations this year. One may have reasonably expected Vivo to introduce the iQOO Watch 2. However, it has decided to jump ahead to the iQOO Watch 5 instead, just under a month after releasing a Watch 5 under its main brand.
Ultimately, the iQOO Watch 5 appears to be a sports-focused version of the Vivo Watch 5, which can be optioned with a stainless steel case. As a result, the iQOO Watch 5 has a rounded display just like the Google Pixel Watch 3 (curr. $369 on Amazon). According to Vivo, this AMOLED panel measures 1.43-inches to match the dimensions of its predecessor while delivering a 60 Hz refresh rate and 1,500 nits peak brightness.
On top of that, the iQOO Watch 5 boasts up to 22 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, although this will drop when its GPS module is in use. The same is true if one leverages the smartwatch's optional eSIM functionality, which will drain the battery rather quickly. Incidentally, although the iQOO Watch 5 can be used without its paired smartphone being nearby, it has built-in speakers and microphones to handle calls over Bluetooth. On top of that, Vivo speaks of iOS compatibility in its product listing.
The iQOO Watch 5 is said to master over 100 sports modes too, which can be used with the smartwatch's heart rate, SpO2 and menstrual cycle tracking. Currently, the iQOO Watch 5 starts at CNY 799 (~$111) and rises to CNY 999 (~$139). Vivo has not yet suggested whether it plans to offer the iQOO Watch 5 globally, though.
