Huawei has launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the Enjoy 70X, in China. The company’s new midrange offering comes with an interesting set of features. It comes as a successor to the Huawei 60X smartphone, which debuted in April 2023. As usual, Huawei hasn’t officially revealed the processor name that is used in the Enjoy 70X smartphone. The Geekbench listing suggests that the Enjoy 70X is equipped with the all-new Kirin 8000A 5G chipset, which Huawei complements with a Mali-G610 GPU and 8 GB of RAM.
The 5G-enabled smartphone has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Speaking about dimensions, it measures 164 x 74.8 x 7.98 mm (HWD) (6.45 x 2.94 x 0.31 inches) and weighs 189 grams (0.41 lbs). The handset runs HarmonyOS 4.2 out of the box, and there’s no word on software support from the brand.
The Enjoy 70X also has a slightly larger battery than its siblings, at 6,100 mAh versus 5,000 mAh for the Enjoy 70 Pro and 6,000 mAh for the Enjoy 70S and Enjoy 70. Likewise, it offers higher wired charging wattage at 40 W. By contrast, the Enjoy 70S and Enjoy 70 Pro both support 22.5 W wired charging.
For optics, it features a dual camera setup on the back, including a 50 MP primary camera with a 1/1.56” RYYB sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, it has an 8 MP shooter for capturing selfies and video chats. Another interesting feature is that the Enjoy 70X supports Beidou satellite connectivity, which allows users to send or receive satellite messages via the MeeTime app. Sadly, this feature is only limited to China.
Furthermore, Huawei also added a programmable X button, which can be used to perform a few tasks without even opening the related app. For example, you can use the X button for one-click payment, one-click calling, and more. It comes in Lake Blue, Spruce Green, Snow White, and Gold Black color options.
The Huawei Enjoy 70X starts at CNY 1,799 (~$246) for the 8 GB + 128 GB model, the 8 GB + 256 GB model is priced at CNY 1,999 (~$273), and the high-end 8 GB + 512 GB variant costs CNY 2,299 (~$314). The smartphone is currently available for pre-order in China via Huawei’s official online store, and the open sales will begin on January 10.
