We now have our first look at the Galaxy Z Fold 7 thanks to Android Headlines. Like the Galaxy Z Flip 7 shown off recently, it, too, will arrive with some design changes. Pity that doesn't hold true for the Galaxy S25 FE. One of the most noticeable changes arrives in the camera housing. While the pill-shaped cutout is still there, the actual camera loses its rings.
Next up, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is remarkably thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Its exact thickness is a mystery, but it is rumoured to be one of the thinnest foldable to launch this year. Every millimetre matters because of heavy competition from the Oppo Find N6, Vivo X Fold 5 and Honor Magic V5.
Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will get more screen real estate, with an 8.2-inch main display and 6.5-inch cover display. And these are only the changes we can see. X leaker Ice Universe says the foldable will get, "some industry-first technologies", indicating there will be some under-the-hood improvements.
Unfortunately, a battery upgrade might not be on the cards, although Qi2 wireless charging will be supported in a limited capacity. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will keep its predecessor's 4,400 mAh battery. Samsung is probably reserving all the important upgrades for the rumoured Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and the much-awaited tri-folding smartphone.
