Samsung is expected to officially announce the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 in the coming days. In the meantime, the company has introduced the Galaxy M16 5G with a feature set that is broadly in line with the existing Galaxy A16 5G (curr. $174.99 on Amazon).
For example, Samsung has installed a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which it complements with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W wired charging. The Galaxy M16 5G also finds itself with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that resolves at 1080p, 90 Hz and up to 800 nits peak brightness. Moreover, Samsung has equipped its latest Galaxy M series smartphone with the following hardware within a Sony Xperia-style camera housing:
- Primary: 50 MP, f/1.8 aperture
- Macro: 2 MP
- Ultra-wide-angle: 5 MP, f/2.2 aperture
- Front-facing: 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture
The Galaxy M16 5G starts at INR 11,499 (~$131) in India with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, Samsung sells 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM configurations, all with the promise of 6 major Android updates from Android 15 onwards. There is no word on international availability yet, though.
